Soon as this is the first entry of my journal, I will tell you a bit about myself, I’m Ella Mae, and I’m 11 years old, I come from a very small place in Wales near Cardiff called Barry, you might have heard of it! To this day the world isn’t a great place, first of all there’s global warming, loads of trees are dying and the earth is getting warmer and warmer. It’s so scary but us humans are all trying to help each other at this rate, but that’s not what I want to talk about, I made this journal as a record of a virus that is spreading around the whole world, you now probably know what I’m talking about, it’s the corona virus. But before I inform you on what’s happening this very second, I’m going to talk about the past. People say that the very first case was in December, but they kept it a secret for some reason, oh and it was in China as well. And up until now, it has spread across the whole world with only a few countries germ free, unfortunately where I live is infected. On Sunday was the very first Barry case of the virus and I have no idea how many there are now, but I do know that it has spread very very fast, the rest of the world are in lockdown, but we’re not quite there yet. Tomorrow is my last day of school until it shuts and it’s worrying because it might be closed till September, and I haven’t got chance to say bye to my school and friends. I hate to think that but it’s getting serious, today there were only 9 people in class, and trust me 9/30 is not good. A few of my older generations are self isolated and it hasn’t kicked in yet, but I’m really going to miss them, but I still get to FaceTime them every night which makes it a little bit better I guess. If you went into any shop right now, the shelves would be almost empty, loads of people are panic buying, even we have! But to be honest I don’t blame them, it’s smart actually! Right now the craze is toilet paper, it’s sold out EVERYWHERE ( literally) but that’s not going to stop me from keeping my head high, I just really hope that in the end me and my family are safe.
